BolingBrook Golf Club Selects Verishot
CLEVELAND, OH – August 27, 2009 – Verishot (www.verishot.com) announces the latest golf course to use its hole-in-one golf shot monitoring system and program. Bolingbrook Golf Club (www.bolingbrookgolfclub.com), Bolingbrook, IL, is utilizing Verishot to capture videos of golfers’ winning shots on dedicated contest holes, manage the contest program and display the videos on Verishot’s Web site www.winninggolfshots.com. The Verishot program helps golf clubs create excitement for golfers while increasing rounds and revenue for the course by using a golf shot video monitoring system, social networking site and contest management and promotion program. Bolingbrook Golf Club is owned by the Village of Bolingbrook, managed by Kemper Sports and has a championship golf course with a 76,000 square foot clubhouse and full banquet facilities.
“We purchased the Verishot system to further differentiate our golf club in the Chicago market,” says Mike Williams, PGA, Bolingbrook Golf Club assistant general manager and head golf professional. Bolingbrook Golf Club will offer the Verishot program seven days a week. It includes a $10,000 hole-in-one prize, along with golf club gift card prizes for within two feet of the flagstick and closest-to-the-pin contests. Golfers pay a small ticket fee to enter the contest and the ticket includes a discount for $10 off their next green fee purchase. “We anticipate that the Verishot program will generate a lot of buzz within our golf community and also help to increase our revenue,” adds Williams. Bolingbrook Golf Club plans to market the Verishot program to the local golf community via e-marketing, signage, and public relations activities.
In 2008, Verishot launched its social networking site www.winningolfshots.com, which presents hole-in-one videos taken at its clients’ golf courses. Golfers can view their hole-in-one shot, rate it, share the video, and post comments as well as access the golf course Web site, and even book tee times. The site now hosts more than 100 hole-in-one and closest-to-the-pin golf shot videos from 30 golf clubs located in the U.S. and Canada.
