How it Works

Checking In

Upon checking in at the course, the golfer receives a ticket to enter the Verishot Challenge.  This ticket is scanned in using the Verishot provided scanner. The ticket contains detailed instructions for winning shots as well as the rules and conditions.

When the ticket is scanned, it becomes registered in the Verishot database. The golfer has 24 hours to use this ticket to claim any prize. In addition, the course should alert the golfer to the procedures on the front of the ticket and the terms and conditions on the back of the ticket.

Claiming a Prize

The golfer does not have to register at the hole. If the golfer hits a winning shot, they enter their challenge code in the keypad located on the Verishot system located by the green. The golfer lays down the flagstick clearly showing that the shot is within the prescribed distance of either within the flag or within two feet. A special measuring label affixed to the flagstick establishes a distance of two feet.  In addition, if the winning shot is a hole-in-one, the golfer must also call Verishot customer service.

Once the code is entered, it sends an alert to Verishot Customer Service. Customer Service will review the video footage and then notify the course usually within the hour whether the claim is accepted or rejected.  Customer service hours are from 7 AM to 10 PM EST seven days a week, 365 days a year.  The course may then pay the claim in the form of the winning prize such as golf shop certificates, coupons for golf, etc. Hole-in-one prizes are paid in the form of cash usually within one week of the shot.

Closest-to-the-Pin and Hole-in-One winning shots are posted to www.winninggolfshots.com within one week of the shot.

I feel that we can significantly enhance our golfers' experience and add more value and excitement at our course with the Verishot hole-in-one contest monitoring system," says Dustin Irwin, director of golf operations for Stone Mountain Golf Club. "We also expect this system to increase the number of rounds, golf shop sales and resulting revenue, and the fact that we don't have to manage the monitoring process makes it so easy.
